Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra, or 'yogic sleep', is a state of deep relaxation where one rests in between sleeping and waking.  As the body sleeps, the consciousness remains awake and aware. In this powerful state we are able to achieve deep relaxation on every level: physically, energetically, mentally, and in the deeper levels of our mind and awareness. There are numerous benefits to resting in this liminal, or non-dual space, which is neither one thing (sleeping) nor the other (waking).  A Yogic practice, Yoga Nidra is a method of achieving 'pratyahara' a withdrawl of the senses from the exterior world, and a turning of the awareness inwards. Alongside deep rest and rejuvenation, resting in this altered state of being can open us up to perceptions beyond the everyday limitations of the mind, and can bring us home to our true, spiritual selves.

Personal Sessions

One of the most magical aspects of Yoga Nidra is that the practice brings the practicioner what is most needed at the time., whether that is deep rest and physical rejuvenation, healing, creativity and new perspectives, exploration of concepts or emotions, spiritual understanding, or even just a deep peaceful sleep. There are many stages to the practice and many techniques that can be used to guide the practice into the desired direction. In a personal session, we will create a Nidra session together which is aimed towards meeting your needs for the practice, using the methods and visualisations that are most appropriate for you. During Yoga Nidra, we rest in a limitless space, and there are no limitations in where the practice can be directed

A personal session begins with a 15-20 minute consultation to discuss your intentions and what you would like to be included in your Nidra pracice. You will then be guided through your 30-40 minute Yoga Nidra, which will also be recorded so that you can listen and repeat it whenever you like. You may feel that you only the need one session, or you may like to work with several sessions over time. In follow-up sessions, we will have a 10-15 minute check-in to discuss any effects of the practice and to make any adjustments you require, followed by a 40-45 minute recorded practice. Sessions are avaiable online via video call, or in person in Taray.
